Cattle health a hot agenda

Health and welfare will be among the headline topics to come under the spotlight at the 61st Annual Winter Conference of the British Cattle Breeders' Club on January 23 to 25.

The conference, which will take place at Hawkstone Park Hotel, near Shrewsbury, covers a range of topics vital to both the beef and dairy sectors.

Speakers booked for the conference come not only from all across Britain, but will include experts from Australia, Belgium and Denmark.

Club Chairman David Hewitt, said: "This event is far more than just a conference. It provides the ideal venue to meet old friends as well as industry leaders.

"The 2006 Conference takes on the quest of exploring one of the hottest current topics: disease prevention and monitoring to improve animal health and welfare."
