Cattle producers urged to look out for Minnesota animals
Livestock producers in Nebraska are being warned that they may have to take special precautions when importing cattle from Minnesota.
The Nebraska Department of Agriculture reports that four cow herds infected with tuberculosis have been discovered in Minnesota in recent months. That is expected to trigger new regulations requiring all cattle imported from Minnesota to meet 1 of 2 standards.
Under one standard, imported cattle would have to come from an accredited herd and have tested negative for tuberculosis within the last 60 days, among other criteria.
