China-Big jump in grain exports.
CHINA.
GRAIN EXPORTS.
The fact that China will be exporting around 500,000 tons of corn and 500,000 tons of wheat in 2009, will have little impact on the global market, according to analysis by the traders in Chicago.
The USA is expected to be exporting 43 million tons, in the same period, however as every company globally is boasting a good harvest in their country, this may not be the case.
China normally only exports corn, however this year they are paying a subsidy to farmers to export wheat, in order to keep the domestic price stable, rather than flood the market.
The grain harvest in China was 528.5 million tons for 2008, an increase of 5.4% in a bumper harvest
