HEAD OF DAIRY COMPANY PLEADS GUILTY TO SELLING POISONED MILK KNOWINGLY.
Tian Wenhua, the former chairwoman of the largest dairy company in China the giant Sanlu Group, pleaded guilty in court on Wednesday, to being aware of the melamine problem in her milk, four months before the scandal became public.
The Intermediate Peoples court, could impose the death penalty of the 72 year old former business woman.
Rising from the floor in the Shijiazhuang Dairy Farm, after qualifying as a vet she joined the Sanlu corporation in 1967 and soon rose through the ranks, to head the company in 1987.
This all came crumbling down in September when milk from the company, that was used for baby formula for infants, was found to be tainted with melamine.
