CHINA-FOOT AND MOUTH CONFIRMED ON FRIDAY.
An outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease was identified in
China ’s Sichuan province, a major feedmeal consumer, but the situation is now
under control, the Ministry of Agriculture said late Thursday. The disease was
confirmed to be Asian FMD I, the ministry said in a statement published on its Web site.
