PORK EXPORTS.

The pork exports from china have dropped for the first 10 months of 2008.

The main markets are Hong Kong, Kirghizia and Macao.

The earthquake on May 12, was a big blow to the pork production and the farming sector in general.

The exports for the 8 months totaled 62,000 tons, a drop of 54% on 2007.

49,000 tons went to Hong Kong, 6;868 tons to Kirghizia and 3,220 tons to Macao and the balance around the region.

72% of all exports were sold by private companies, the balance by government controlled companies.
