Cider industry trophy presented by HRH Countess of Wessex

Coopers Trophy for Cider Industry Craftmanship presented by HRH The Countess of Wessex Wednesday 1st June at 14:45 Orchard & Cider Pavilion. Presented to Tim Edwards

Timothy Edwards joined the Somerset Cider brandy Company some 12 years ago where he took charge of the stills Josephine and Fifi. Over the years he has supervised the distilling of hundreds of thousand gallon of the very best Somerset cider to make a fine spirit.

His attention to detail and care has earned the respect of all, and over those years Somerset Cider Brandy has found a niche along with many good ciders on the traditional English menu. During his time at the Kingsbury Episcopi distillery the company has launched a ten year old, fifteen year old and 20 year old Somerset Cider Brandy. Tim is often to be found promoting Cider Brandy and also the traditions and importance Somerset orchards across the UK.

Mr Edwards has also looked after the company’s relations with the Customs and Excise. A job which involves great tact, endless forms and records of all sorts, which seem to double in volume every year. In this role he has excelled and earned the respect of the Excise, not an easy thing to do. It has been claimed that his records now serve as a blueprint, which has allowed other small distilleries to spring up across the UK.
