CLA pledges support for members as Coastal Access Bill becomes law

As the Marine and Coastal Access Bill received Royal Assent today becoming law, the CLA said it would continue to fight for a fair implementation.

The CLA has won a right of appeal for landowners and land managers and called on Natural England to go about creating the new sections of the coastal path in a way that does not damage rural businesses.

CLA President Henry Aubrey-Fletcher said: "We will be supporting CLA members who feel they’re being treated unfairly and advising them on how to appeal.

"We have never supported the coastal access provisions of the Bill. And now it is law, we are determined to ensure it causes as little disruption to coastal businesses as possible."
