CLA strengthens presence in Leicestershire
The Country Land and Business Association (CLA) has appointed Nigel Johnson as Field Officer for Leicestershire, providing the rural economy experts with an increased presence in the region.
Mr Johnson, of Aslackby in Lincolnshire is a respected figure amongst rural communities in the Midlands having trained at Brackenhurst Agricultural College in Nottinghamshire and with a career history in the animal feed industry.
Mr Johnson also played a significant part in the silage management sector and his rural credentials are further enhanced by his role as Sales and Marketing Director in the packaging trade, where he worked closely with major UK food manufacturers.
The appointment comes as Members in the region take increasing advantage of the CLA's professional advisory services and rely on its lobbyists to give the rural East Midlands a voice in the corridors of power.
CLA East Midlands Director, Helen Woolley, speaking from the association's regional base in Market Harborough, said: "I am delighted to welcome Nigel to our team. He has certainly hit the ground running, and has already helped raise our profile tremendously."
