Colombia is the United States eighth largest market for grain exports, the Bush administration, is now pushing for a Colombian free trade deal, before the administration ends in January.
Skeptics in Latin America believe, the trade deal is payment for the CIA involvement in Colombia, as a deterrent against Hugo Chevez in Venezuela.
Grain imports to Colombia are for the dairy and pork industry, as the country does not produce sufficient grain for its own requirements.
