Consider Tassie in push to diversify irrigated farming

Tasmanian farmers say any plans to overhaul Australia's irrigated farming should seriously consider further development in the south.

The weekend 2020 summit renewed the push for more agricultural development in Australia's north, to help ease pressure on the Murray Darling Basin.

Tasmanian vegetable farmer and industry campaigner Richard Bovill supports the push for more farming in the north, but says Tasmania also has untapped water resources that are being overlooked.
