Countrywide EFFP events offer farmers ‘food’ for thought
Countrywide, the leading UK supplier of products and advice to the rural community is holding two farmer meetings in association with the English Farming and Food Partnerships (EFFP) Share to Farm initiative, taking place in at the Three Counties Hotel, Hereford on 28 February and at Le Spa at Stratton Place, Cirencester on 6 March.
The meetings titled 'Where next for Beef & Sheep Farmers', to be held from 7.00pm to 9.30pm on each date will offer advice and assistance to beef and sheep farmers, and will include presentations from the EFFP, Countrywide Feed Technical Manager Jim Fordyce, Fort Dodge Technical Service Manager David Bartram, and the HSBC Bank.
"Livestock farmers have suffered severe pressures in the last 12 months with rising feed prices and the market disruption caused by the foot and mouth outbreak. Add to these pressures the rapidly changing world we have to survive in with climate change, population and wealth growth in Asia and increasing demands on land for food and fuel, and it is easy to understand how the picture for livestock farmers can be somewhat murky," says Sir Ben Gill. "These meetings are intended to bring farmers together to look at how they can best address these issues and attain a reasonable return on their investments by maximising the value of their sales while minimising their input costs either by collaboration or technical efficiency gains," he adds.
Attendance at the workshops is free of charge, and refreshments will be provided. For further information and to book a place, please contact your local Countrywide sales specialist or call Countrywide Marketing Team on 01386 757305.
