Countrywide Farmers’ Conference to set Agenda for Renewable Fuels
As the subject of energy, and specifically renewable energy, continues to spark 'heated' global debate, Countrywide Farmers plc will be setting the agenda for renewable fuels with the launch of its Biomass Supply Chain Initiative at the inaugural Countrywide Farmers' Renewable Fuels Conference on Thursday 8 February 2007.
The conference, chaired by renewable energy specialist, past Chairman of the Government's Biomass Task Force and Countrywide director, Sir Ben Gill, will, together with Countrywide Farmers' partners, offer valuable and practical information for energy users at all levels: project developers, farmers and growers, local authorities and businesses in general and lay out why Countrywide Farmers is to become the logical first point of call in this field.
"The Governmental Biomass Task Force identified the lack of any joined up supply chain as a major barrier to both consumer confidence and take up of renewable energy in general and biomass specifically. The Biomass Supply Chain Initiative to be launched at the conference uniquely brings together all elements of the chain from the boiler manufacturer/ installer for example, to the source of the renewable fuel itself, together with a signposting service for all the best customer advice," Sir Ben explains.
The day long conference will also put biomass as a renewable fuel into context with other sources of renewable energy and importantly also introduce the sustainability policy of Countrywide Farmers. "To confirm that Countrywide Farmers is leading by example when it comes to renewable fuels, as part of our policy we will be rolling out biomass heating boilers in our Country Stores," said John Hardman, Managing Director of Countrywide Farmers who will present this policy.
The Countrywide Farmers' Renewable Fuel Conference 2007 takes place on Thursday 8 February at Worcester Rugby Club. Tickets for the event, costing £35.00 and including lunch, need to be reserved in advance by calling 01993 890422. Ticket numbers will be limited.
