Crackerjack fills the gap

For many of the growers in Suffolk and Norfolk, who will have been left reeling by yesterday’s news of the termination of their contract to grow peas for Bird’s Eye there is a window of opportunity still open.

Daltons Seeds in Peterborough still have good supplies of Crackerjack seed available: "As the top yielding large Blue pea on the Recommended List, this variety has shown consistent performance over the last four years, with good standing and disease resistance, and is in demand by micronisers and exporters," says James Wallace.

"The message for growers now is get the seed into store so that you have a viable crop to put in this spring."
