Customer receives keys to 50,000th new generation

An MF 6495, built on Thursday 1st March 2007, is the 50,000th tractor to be produced at AGCO's Manufacturing Facility in Beauvais, France, since Massey Ferguson embarked upon its remarkable non-stop and on-going introduction programme of its new French-built tractor ranges which it commenced in 2003.

To celebrate this remarkable achievement, at a special SIMA Show Ceremony in Paris today, Martin Richenhagen, Chairman, President and CEO of the AGCO Corporation presented the keys for this special tractor to customer, Mr Michel Remont, from Mesenil Hardray, Normandy, France. Mr. Remont purchased the tractor from Massey Ferguson Dealer Ets SAMA of Caen/Evreux.

This year's SIMA show is only the second since the start of Massey Ferguson's outstanding resurgence in the tractor market, which began with the unveiling of a new generation Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) tractor in 2003.

Following SIMA 2003 Massey Ferguson commenced its unparalleled new product developments and introductions, renewing its entire tractor range from the smallest compacts right through to its flagship 300+hp models.

"Massey Ferguson is a powerful force that has regenerated itself and is gaining ground once again in every country where we operate," said Richard Markwell, Vice President, Managing Director of Massey Ferguson Europe, Africa and Middle East. "Our Beauvais factory is at the forefront of this regeneration and is responsible for introducing leading-edge technology on every tractor it now produces."

"To present the 50,000th of our new generation '4' Series tractors produced since 2003 at this year's show is a remarkable achievement. It is a testament to the immense investment, commitment and innovation that is now benefiting our customers all over the world," Mr. Markwell said.

The exceptional new generation '4' Series tractor developments began with the introduction of the MF 6400 Series which now comprises a range of 12 models from 90-240hp. Continuous development of these tractors means they are now all equipped with the class-leading Dyna-6 Eco transmission.

Also came the MF 7400 tractors from 120-203hp, debuting the Dyna-VT continuously variable transmission as standard. With unrivalled levels of specification, these tractors offer operators best in class performance, comfort and control.

Soon afterwards Massey Ferguson unveiled the MF 5400, a multi-talented tractor series that now features seven models with powers from 75-125hp. But still the innovations kept coming, with these versatile workhorses soon benefiting from the features offered by the new Dyna-4 transmission.

Saving what is, arguably, the best until last, 2005 saw the introduction of the four models in the flagship 215-315p MF 8400 Series, which were immediately acclaimed as the coveted 'European Tractor of the Year'. Featuring the Dyna-VT continuously variable transmission as standard, these machines provide owners with ultimate productivity in the field and on the road.

With the initial concept tractor, which made its debut at SIMA 2003, Massey Ferguson introduced unprecedented levels of cab comfort, control and quietness. With noise levels down to 70 dBA Massey Ferguson has led the field for the past two years, with the cab being awarded a citation from the show's technical medal committee.

Since then Massey Ferguson products have been commended with more awards than any other manufacturer in the world. Massey Ferguson has continued to introduce unprecedented new products and features across the total range, always embracing the latest engine and transmission technology and styling.

These accolades honour Massey Ferguson's huge advances in introducing new, market-leading technology in every area. Advanced engines offer class-leading power, torque and control. These combine with effortless shifting and ease of use with Dyna-4 and Dyna-6 transmissions, along with ultimate control and intuitive operation of the Dyna-VT continuously variable transmission.

This is all complimented by unsurpassed levels of control and monitoring provided by the latest Datatronic 3 and the ISO-compatible GTA console. These are not just for the big flagships, but also available on smaller models in the ranges.

"It is also important to note that all Massey Ferguson tractors, whatever their size or power, receive the same high levels of engineering expertise and investment. This means every user, from smallholders to the largest agribusinesses, all benefit from Massey Ferguson's outstanding advanced engineering, design and controls," adds Mr. Markwell.
