Cutting carbon can make a big impact

Over 180 farm businesses heard how low carbon innovation can benefit their businesses, at an event in Harrogate today. The event - the Low Carbon Best Practice Exchange - attracted around 300 delegates who heard how more efficient equipment and renewable energy can help farmers reduce their costs and carbon emissions.

Delegates had the chance to select which of the seminars, discussion groups and presentations they wanted to attend, and make a personalised agenda specific to their needs. As well as structured sessions, attendees could view new and innovative products at the exhibition running throughout the day.

This event - the first in a series of Low Carbon Best Practice Exchanges that will be held across the country - was sponsored by CO2Sense, the low carbon experts. Joanne Pollard, Chief Executive of CO2Sense, said, "This is the fourth time we have sponsored the event, and this year shows that low carbon business is as alive and kicking as ever. There are many opportunities for farms to make significant cost savings, and even earn an income, from low carbon technology and more efficient farming methods, and we want to make sure they have the knowledge, support and investment opportunities they need to take these opportunities."
