World Wide Sires UK has appointed Chris Godfrey as a new breeding consultant in the East Midlands.
Godfrey, who has worked in the livestock and dairy farming industry for more than 30 years, joins World Wide Sires as the company’s breeding and sales specialist for the counties of Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire.
Godfrey is well-known to dairy farmers within the region, having spent the last five years working for First Milk as a member of the company’s farm enterprise team.
Prior to this, he has worked within the dairy farming industry, selling quota and semen for a range of companies. He therefore has a huge amount of experience, all of which is relevant to his new role.
“My primary objectives are to help new and existing customers to achieve improved levels of efficiency, productivity and herd health through the selection of appropriate sires,” Chris explains.
“By working alongside the company’s team of mating programme advisors I hope to be able to improve the sustainability of my customers’ herds,” he continues. “World Wide Sires has a wide range of dairy and beef genetics to suit the needs of all dairy farms, and I look forward to working with farmers throughout the East Midlands to find the best possible genetics to meet their own individual farming objectives.”
Godfrey is from a farming background and graduated from Lincolnshire Agricultural College in 1982. He lives in Gosberton in South Lincolnshire.
