EC unveils storage aid plan for pork producers
The European Commission today proposed the establishment a private storage aid scheme to alleviate Irish pigmeat producers affected by the recall on pork products.
The proposal, which is being discussed with representatives of the EU 27 Member States at a Commission meeting today, would allow pork producers to store their produce which was prevented from going on the market during the contamination scare.
