Economist to address Pembrokeshire farmers
Pembrokeshire NFU Cymru members will get a tour of Puffin Produce Ltd at the next county arable and horticulture meeting on Monday, 29 July at 6pm.
NFU Chief Economist, Phil Bicknell, will be present to give Pembrokeshire farmers a brief update on the market outlook and prospects for the combinable crops, arable and horticultural sectors.
Members will also get a tour of the site at Puffin Produce Ltd where they will be able to see the factory in operation and view the recent £8.4million investment on the site which now includes some of the most advanced potato and vegetable grading, packing and storage facilities in the UK. Puffin Produce Commercial Manager, James Smith and Finance Director, Jon Langmead, will lead the tour and will discuss the company strategy and its future plans.
Pembrokeshire NFU Cymru County Chairman, Mansel Raymond said, “We are extremely grateful to Phil Bicknell for agreeing to come and speak at the meeting and also to Puffin Produce Ltd for allowing us to have a tour of the factory and for providing refreshments and a buffet.
“This meeting is open to all NFU Cymru members and I do hope we will get a good turnout. Please also encourage your friends and neighbours to come along.”
