Eileen Pullinger to become AIC Head of Fertiliser

Eileen Pullinger will take up the post of Head of Sector-Fertilisers at the Agricultural Industries Confederation in April 2006.

Mrs Pullinger joins AIC after several years in a senior position within Defra's Farm Focus Division. In that role she has had considerable involvement with the issues and legislation concerning fertiliser use and distribution in the UK. She has also represented the UK at meetings of the EU Fertilisers Working Group in Brussels.

"I am delighted to welcome Eileen to the team. Her experience with our industry will be invaluable at this challenging time in the UK and the enlarged European Union," said AIC Chairman Stuart Beer.

Mrs Pullinger takes over from David Heather who will step down as Head of Sector and become an independent consultant.

"The whole industry is indebted for the invaluable effort David has made on behalf of the fertiliser sector both as Director General of the Fertiliser Manufacturers Association and with AIC since its formation. We are delighted that his experience and expertise will still be available to the industry," said Mr Beer.
