Farmer put forward for top award

A Rutland farmer has been selected as a finalist for a Farmer's Weekly Award.

Andrew Brown from Caldecott has been chosen as one of three finalists for the countryside farmer of the year category.

He said: "You have to nominate yourself and then you are chosen to be one of three finalists.

"I hope that I might get it, but I expect the other entrants are of a high standard."

Mr Brown is up against Ian Waller from Buckinghamshire and Keith Siddorn from Chester. He has already been visited by the judges who were assessing his links with the environment and his business.
