Fears grow over spread of blue tongue

FEARS are growing in the local farming community as the "bluetongue" protection zone – and the livestock movement restrictions it brings – has been extended to parts of the North West.

Defra announced the extension to the Protection Zone, which now includes Congleton, Crewe, Nantwich, Macclesfield, Stockport, Tameside and Oldham.
