Firms join forces to help farmers in changing economic climate

Worcestershire-based chartered accountants, Ballard Dale Syree Watson and independent firm of estate agents, chartered surveyors auctioneers and valuers, Halls have combined their expertise for a day.

On the 1st December the two professional practices, both with expert, well established agricultural departments, will share the speaker’s platform at Worcestershire Young Farmers Club, Hawford.

The idea behind the collaboration is to deliver a seminar devised to help farmers plan ahead in a constantly changing economic climate. The session will provide a forum for advice on practical issues such as how to pay less tax for example. Delegates will also be given guidance on ways to explore new business opportunities and the latest updates on the issues currently affecting the agricultural sector.

Bill Ballard, founder and partner at Ballard Dale Syree Watson is delighted to combine forces with Halls for the good of the farming community.

Head of Agribusiness at BDSW, Mr Ballard said: "Farmers are extremely busy people and to have access to the free advice we are offering in one intensive evening session is very appealing to them. No matter if a farming business is performing well or struggling in the current climate it is important to minimise tax liability and to deliver sensible, successful strategic advice."

With offices in Shropshire, Worcestershire mid-Wales and the West Midlands Halls have a wealth of expertise and diversity in many sectors and prides itself on its success in helping clients in the agricultural sector.

Rural surveyor, Helen Gibbs who will be representing Halls at the seminar said: "Farmers are always seeking further opportunities to make the most from their assets. We hope this seminar will highlight and remind farmers of the best way to maximise their income and allow them to consider alternative income streams. All farming enterprises are subject to changing government policy and we hope to provide helpful updates in this regard."
