Fish farm deaths fuel fears
Huge lorry loads of dead fish hauled away by road from a Lamlash Bay fish farm on Tuesday have concerned local residents who have already voiced fears regarding an expansion of fish farming in the area.
Thousands of dead salmon were removed for incineration from Arran's only commercial fish farm after an outbreak of the parasitic borne condition - Proliferative Gill Disease (PGD).
Sources told The Arran Banner that tonnes of diseased salmon were removed from the Kings Cross site and would be transported to the mainland to be incinerated.
