Food Transport Indicators 2004 published

One year on since the launch of Defra's Food Miles report, "The Validity of Food Miles as an Indicator of Sustainable Development", the department will publish an updated set of food transport statistics on Thursday 20 July.

Defra committed to annually monitoring a set of four key transport indicators when it published the Food Industry Sustainability Strategy (FISS) on 26 April 2006.
