The high profile diversions of the paths at Pitshill West Sussex have been finally confirmed by the Secretary of State following a public inquiry in June.
The diversions had been opposed by the County Council, the Ramblers and Open Spaces Society.
In the course of fighting to secure the diversions DEFRA’s interpretation of the law was challenged by an application for Judicial Review, resulting in the publication of new guidance which will help all landowners secure diversions.
ET Landnet of Speldhurst, Kent have represented the landowner, the Hon. Charles Pearson since 2004 and more details on the case can be found on their website landnet.co.uk. or call Michael Wood on 0845 83 88 440
