BUTCHERS IN FRANCE FIGHTING LEGISLATION.

Butchers in France are up in arms, over new proposed legislation, proposed by the government of President Nichols Sarkozy, that could mean the end of the small butcher and baker.

The proposed bill, will allow supermarkets to open new stores without restrictions and trade for longer hours.

However the small butchers and shopkeepers maintain, they will not be able to compete with the large multi nationals supermarket chains, should the legislation go through.

The government claim, the bill is aimed at modernizing the economy of France.
