Germany-East African beef deal.
TANZANIA.
MEAT VENTURE WITH GERMANY.
The Tanzanian Annual Meat Council (TAMC), plans to enter into a joint venture with the German African Association, in a beef abattoir and export plant.
The partnership will open a global export market and expand the countries global network, according to Evarist Maembe, the chairman of TAMC.
There have been discussions and visits to processing plants in Europe, going on for some time, as Tanzania lacks the experience and expertise required, in the production of beef, according to the chairman.
He has called on the government for support, in training up a workforce, who will of course benefit from the venture.
While Tanzania is one of he most fertile countries in East Africa, it is also one of the poorest.
