GERMANY-SWINE FLU CONFIRMED.

Bavaria’s health ministry says a case of swine flu has been confirmed in Germany - the country’s first.

The ministry said on Wednesday that the case was confirmed by the Robert Koch Institute, Germany’s national disease control centre.

It said in a brief statement that the case involved a patient in the Regensburg area, north of Munich. Further details were not immediately available.

Britain and Spain already have confirmed cases of the disease, which was first detected in Mexico and has now been found in several other countries worldwide.
