FOOD GIANT VION TO UPDATE MEAT PLANT.
The Vishofen pork plant of Vion in Germany, is to increase capacity from 15,000 pigs per week to 18,000 pigs per week after a 5 million euro investment.
The carcass chillers are to be doubled in capacity and there is to be work done on the loading bays, to increase speed and efficiency.
Vion are the largest meat group in Europe, with over 35,000 employees in many countries and a turnover of close to 10 billion euros a year.
