Gleadell keep rates unchanged despite oil price rises
Gleadell Agriculture announced today that, despite oil price rises, the drying and handling rates for their Immingham facility for the 2011-12 season remain unchanged.
’Immingham has become a favoured home for the region’s farmers,’ comments David Sheppard, managing director of Gleadell Agriculture. ’The modern drying facility has a proven track record of cost-effectively coping with farmer’s grain up to 20%.
’This contrasts with other outlets who are unable to deal with wet grain, and where farmers will need to combine, dry and condition their grain to below 15%.
’Also we are at an end user destination, so can keep the combines going when farm stores cannot cope. And we are up and running in contrast with the unfortunate delays in the start up of other facilities in the region still in the build process.
’All this underlines the fact that Immingham has been a key hub for UK grain exports over the past 25 years, and we believe it still will be in the years to come,’ Mr Sheppard adds.
