Govt blind on climate change: farmers

Australia's farmers have delivered a scathing review of the coalition's agriculture policy, saying it lacks vision on the crucial areas of climate change and drought.

Agriculture Minister Peter McGauran detailed the policy, costed at more than $100 million over four years, at the NSW Farm Writers Association in Sydney on Tuesday.

The Australian Greens predictably canned the coalition for ignoring climate change.

But the National Farmers Federation (NFF) also criticised the federal government's failure to announce new measures to deal with drought and water scarcity.
