Griffiths first to carry traceability markings on all eggs

All Oaklands Farm eggs to be stamped with traceability coding, identifying farm of origin.

Oaklands Farm Eggs is seizing the initiative to become the first major UK packer to stamp 100 percent of its eggs. In future, all Oaklands eggs will be marked with the method of production, the country of origin and the farm's unique identity number.

The move will require all Oaklands Farm suppliers to stamp their eggs on the farm of origin prior to delivery to the Oaklands Farm packing centre, creating a crucial traceability check for the consumer.

gives us another important tool to ensure full traceability of every egg that comes through our packing centre," says Oaklands Farm's technical director, Elwyn Griffiths.

Recognising the need to reassure their customers of the source of their eggs and acknowledging the cost implication of stamping all egg production, Oaklands Farm will be providing its dedicated producers with the print unit and all consumables.
