HCC Agree to additional marketing strategy

NFU Cymru is delighted with the announcement today by Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC) that it is to fund an additional beef marketing campaign to start later this month. This follows calls by NFU Cymru last month for HCC to bring forward their planned autumn beef marketing campaign.

With the serious concerns of beef producers being the main talk at all the summer shows this year NFU Cymru called on HCC to take action and bring forward their planned beef marketing campaign.

Ed Rees, NFU Cymru Livestock Board Chairman, a beef producer from the Vale of Glamorgan, said, "We knew that HCC was planning a major marketing campaign for later this year but we asked them to bring it forward. We welcome the swift action they have taken and are very pleased that the marketing campaign announced today, to start at the end of September, is in addition to the one already planned."

Previous marketing campaigns carried out by HCC have proved very successful in terms of increasing meat sales. Ed concluded, "These marketing campaigns will hopefully stimulate consumer demand for Welsh beef which is of the highest quality."
