Auctioneers Halls are preparing to sell an exceptional range of quality farm machinery, workshop tools and equipment in Shropshire on Saturday.

The dispersal sale at The Rea Farm, Upton Magna, near Shrewsbury, on Saturday, May 14, for Messrs S. B. Whittles and Son follows a decision by Ben Whittles to retire and relinquish his tenancy. The auction lots may be viewed on Friday, May 13 from 10am to 4pm.

"The Whittles family moved to The Rea in 1948 and most of the machinery has been on the farm from new and has been meticulously maintained to the extent that everyone attending the sale can have complete confidence in anything they buy," said Halls’ director David Giles.

"Machines have also been kept under cover when not in use and always washed off.

"This is, perhaps, the highest quality and range of machinery and equipment from one farm ever seen in Shropshire."

The auction begins at 10.30am with the sale of 400 lots from an exceptional collection of workshop tools and equipment. The second part of the sale from noon features the farm machinery.

The machinery includes a Claas Lexion 550 combine harvester, a Claas Xerion 4500 tractor, Massey Ferguson 7626 and 6490 tractors, a 1994 JCB 4 CX, a 2002 Haulotte PA16 cherry picker, a 2013 Opico Magna 20 tonne grain drier, a 2009 Chieftain 1,400 litre fuel bowser, a 2009 Chieftain beaver tail trailer and three Richard Western “Wellington” 18 tonne trailers.

There is also a selection of irrigation and cultivation equipment and drills included in the auction.
