High wheat MSP enthuses farmers
New Delhi: (PTI) The area under coverage of wheat has reported an increase of 27 per cent at 1.42 lakh hectares in the Rabi season till October 24 on the back of significant rise of Rs 250 a quintal in the grain's minimum support price.
According to agriculture ministry, the coverage under wheat has been reported at 1.42 lakh hectares so far in the states of Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Punjab.
Wheat acreage in the corresponding period of previous Rabi season stood at 1.12 lakh hectares.
