Highly important Yellow Form
At a recent on-farm meeting Clwyd farmers were given more details from a National Assembly official of the highly important yellow document that will be sent to all Welsh farmers in the coming weeks. The forms are part of the Common Agricuture Policy (CAP) reform and the new Single Farm Payment that will be introduced to farmers from January 2005.
A number of local farmers attended the meeting at Rhydonnen Farm, Llandyrnog near Denbigh. The local NFU Cymru Ruthin Branch Chairman Dylan Hughes said: "We were given a presentation of what we are to expect through the post in the next few weeks. The changes that we face in the coming months with CAP Reform need to be addressed by each and every individual farmer, but for some farmers, it can seem a very daunting task. We were given reassurances from Einir Williams who works at the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) office, St Asaph that help is at hand."
Dylan Hughes added: "NFU Cymru can not stress enough the importance of these yellow documents that will be arriving in the post from the Welsh Assembly . It is essential that farmers open them and check that the information regarding their businesses is correct as the Single Farm Payments for the year will be based on this information."
During the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show, Welsh Assembly officials will be at hand to assist and advise farmers on their individual yellow forms. Alternatively, the Local Assembly Office at St Asaph will also assist farmers from Clwyd with their records, telephone number 01745 585227
Dylan Hughes added: "We are extremely grateful to Alan and Buddug Jones and their son Ioan for hosting the event at Rhydonnen. It has been a very worthwhile exercise for Clwyd farmers and one which will inevitably put farmers minds at ease."
