In the south of India farmers in rural areas are being paid close to a dollar a month, to utilize the newly installed public lavatory’s to promote hygiene and health habits.

People relieving themselves in public places is a common sight in India, where basic sanitation is rarely available.

This is just one more sign of the great emerging economy, coming into the 21 st century.
