International gathering in Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire based plant breeders Nickerson, at Rothwell near Market Rasen, were pleased to host a party of 21 delegates on 29th September on a fact finding mission to learn more about UK plant breeding and cereal exports.

Organised by British Cereal Exports [BCE], the delegates included representatives of, China, Cuba, Egypt, Iran and Morocco. Their countries are potentially very important markets for British wheat. By inviting them to the UK, BCE are hoping to influence the buyers into purchasing more UK produced grain in order to meet their country's needs.

As one of the largest and most successful plant breeding and seed marketing companies in Europe, the delegates were keen to visit Nickerson. They spent the afternoon with the Nickerson team discussing aspects of their plant breeding and variety development programmes.
