Israel-Complaints over live shipping.

ISRAEL.

SERIOUS CHARGES AGAINST AUSTRALIA.

The live shipping trade of cattle to Israel from Australia has been going on for the last ten years.

Israeli importers are claiming that cattle they purchased live, were not subjected to the health checks that they had paid for.

Cattle bound for Palestine and Israel have a 16 day journey and often the large vessels put them on as a part load, with cattle bound for Egypt or Libya.

Many of these cattle exported are for breeding purposes and the rules and regulations differ from those of cattle going for slaughter.
