LIVESTOCK NUMBERS.

Japan is trying to increase numbers of livestock, in order to become more self sufficient in meat production.

Currently the cattle herd stands at 3.7 million head of beef cattle.1.06 million dairy cattle and 9.74 million pigs.

There are currently around 90,000 farmers in Japan, devoted to the production of livestock.

United States.

The cattle herd in the USA is currently 104.3 million head of cattle.

Canada.

The cattle herd in Canada is currently 15.195 million head.
