BRAZIL-JBS-SWIFT JAPAN LIFTS BEEF BAN.
The Japanese government on Friday said it has lifted a ban on beef imports from a JBS-Swift & Co. plant after the company satisfied requirements for preventative measures, according to Kyodo News Service.
The move comes nearly five months after Japan put the clamps on the Grand Island, Neb., beef plant for lacking proper USDA certificates.
The plant had been suspended after inspectors at a port of Osaka reportedly found nine boxes shipped from the plant that contained bovine thymus glands lacking proper documentation to verify that the products derived from cattle 20 months of age or younger
