Joint announcement by the agriculture departments of the United Kingdom new appointments to the Food From Britain Council

Two new members have been appointed to the Council of Food from Britain (FFB) by David Miliband, Secretary of State, for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the other three United Kingdom Agriculture Ministers. David Miliband said: "I am pleased to announce the appointments of Julian Wild and Ian Martin as new members of Food from Britain's Council. that Julian and Ian bring to the Council will be of great value in delivering this role." Lady Jay (Sylvia) CBE, Chairman of FFB said: "We are delighted that Ian Martin and Julian Wild will be joining our Council. Their extensive experience and knowledge of the food industry, together with their strong corporate governance skills, will be a fantastic asset for Food from Britain." Ian Martin is the Chairman of Honeytop Speciality Foods, a medium-sized bakery business which exports to countries throughout Europe. With a professional background as a Chartered Accountant, Ian was previously Vice-President and Chief Purchasing Officer for McDonald's Restaurants, where he had extensive involvement with the farming community and food manufacturers. Julian Wild is Food Group Director of Rollits, a North of England law firm. He is a solicitor and has worked in the food sector for 27 years. Before joining Rollits, Julian was on the Operating Board of Northern Foods plc, where he was Corporate Development Director and Group Company Secretary. Earlier in his career at Northern Foods, Julian was Managing Director of Dale Farm Foods and also of Park Cake Bakeries.
