Kawasaki MULE Trans-forms transportation at National Arboretum
A Kawasaki MULE Trans 4x4 3010 Diesel has found a home amongst some of the rarest and most beautiful trees in the world, including the National Japanese Maple Collection. Westonbirt, The National Arboretum, has taken delivery of a new MULE Trans from local Kawasaki dealer, TH Whites, and they are already finding its versatility very useful.
The MULE Trans was purchased for the Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum to use for transportation around the six hundred acre site. The vehicle carries volunteers and their tools as they continue their work in maintaining the tree and shrub collections. It is also used by the Arboretum's visitor services team for various light tasks around the arboretum including emptying waste bins across the vast site.
Simon Toomer, Curator from Westonbirt, said, "We bought the MULE Trans as it combines a diesel engine with 4-wheel drive, has a reasonable carrying capacity and is relatively cheap. We find it extremely useful, particularly the ability to adapt its mix of people vs. pick-up capacity."
The MULE Trans allows four passengers to be carried in seat-belt safety plus a useful tilting load bed or, with a few swift movements, a much larger load bed of up to 499kg, while still retaining the traditional automotive style driver and passenger arrangement.
"We have 2 other Kawasaki MULEs, both 2-seaters and they are used by our tree team for carrying people and equipment around the grounds, managing this world-famous tree collection," ended Toomer.
The flexible diesel powered MULE Trans offers good economy, lower operating costs than equivalent petrol powered machines and is the perfect solution for those operating single fuel policies. Available from authorised Kawasaki dealers now, the new MULE Trans4x4 3010 Diesel retails at just £8745 (excl. VAT).
