Khun launches twin verticle auger diet feeder range

A new range of Euromix twin vertical auger diet feeders has been launched in the UK by Telford-based Kuhn Farm Machinery.

The 16, 20 and 22 cubic metre machines extend the Euromix I 70 series, which was introduced in 2002 with three smaller single vertical auger models.

Augers on all the twin auger models have a flight of 2¼ turns and are equipped with 5 knives (which work against adjustable counter knives inside the hopper), giving the machines the capability of chopping big bales effectively whilst preserving the structure of finer feed products.

Drive to the twin augers is facilitated through two angled gearboxes, as used and widely proven in Kuhn's folding power harrow range.

All three twin auger models have the capability for either one sided or two sided feeding. When using the two sided distribution option, discharge points are located on the front right and rear left of the hopper - diametrically opposite the auger starting points and tangential to the direction of trajectory - to ensure efficient and equal distribution of the ration to both sides.

Electronic weighing with an easily visible readout and 1kg or 5kg increment options is fitted as standard. This is a programmable system, allowing up to 15 mixes with 15 components to be saved in its memory.

A four-wheel bogie axle that is articulated and suspended to improve the stability of the machine when loaded and unloaded is fitted as standard on the largest (22m3) model. This facility is available as an option on the 16 m3 and 20 m3 models.

Standard models, which include a single discharge chute, lights and programmable weighing, start at £24,600 for the Euromix I 1670 (16 m3). The 20m3 and 22m3 start at £26,450 and £28,455 respectively.
