Kirk and Pay qualify for horse of the year show

Competition was fierce at Rowallan Activity Centre in Fenwick, Ayrshire, this weekend (9th – 12th September) when it played host to the first of two wildcard qualifying competitions to compete at the world’s most famous horse show.

British riders battled it out for the opportunity to compete in the International classes at the forthcoming Horse of the Year Show (HOYS), which will be staged at Birmingham’s NEC from 6th – 10th October 2010. Against stiff opposition, the two Rowallan wildcard qualification places were awarded to Jemma Kirk from Bo’Ness, West Lothian and Jo Pay from Fobbing, Essex.

As well as ten of the British leading riders1, who are automatically eligible to compete at the world’s most famous horse show, an additional two places will also be contested at Arena UK (23rd – 26th September).

The International classes commence on Thursday 7th October and finish with the prestigious Leading Show Jumper of the Year Grand Prix, which takes place during Sunday’s Gala Night performance.
