A Kubota M7060 agricultural tractor has been brought in to the David Broome Event Centre to assist with major events such as the Chepstow International Horse Show, thanks to the help of farm and groundcare machinery supplier Ted Hopkins.
The M7060 tractor, equipped with loader, joined the event centre’s current agricultural tractor fleet, a Kubota M6040 and M110GX, to help with the centre’s general maintenance and preparation of events. At this year’s Chepstow International Horse Show, the machines were used for tasks such as transporting and emptying trailers containing equipment for show jumps and obstacles.
Ted Hopkins suggested the M7060 model as a replacement to the centre’s previous smaller tractor, offering the maintenance team increased power and levels of responsiveness. The mid-range tractor features CRS engine technology that offers low emissions and greater fuel economy, which is ideal as the machine will be in use to assist with events weekly in the peak season. Other major events that will put the Kubota fleet through its paces next season are The Welsh Masters in April and The Welsh Home Pony in July.
The M7060 was recommended because its powerful 4 cylinder 3.3ltr turbo-charged diesel engine, which, along with additional modern enhancements, ensures a truly robust unit. The event centre required a tractor that was powerful and durable as they planned for the machine to be used for grading the all-weather showground and its grass arenas and ensuring a level base.
Matthew Broome of The David Broome Event Centre commented: “We’ve been using Kubota machines for five years in total and have been so pleased with their reliability and efficiency that we now only use Kubota tractors. Our staff find them really easy to use and whilst the machines are capable of doing a lot, they’re not complicated to work.”
“Ted Hopkins has supplied our equipment for over 50 years and we’re delighted with the service we receive. The team are reliable and easy to talk to, and together with Kubota, they were able to solve any problems that we came across and got the job done quickly.”
Chris Hopkins of Ted Hopkins commented: “The David Broome Event Centre’s machines play a vital role in ensuring that the events run smoothly and are used for everything from transporting show jumps to rescuing horse boxes stuck in the car park! We are confident that the maintenance staff are happy with their new addition to the team.”
