The Conference, sponsored by HSBC Bank, will take place on Monday, 19 January 2015 at the Grove Golf Club, Cornelly, at 7.30pm. Kate will discuss her time on Lambing Live as well as the development of Kate’s Country School, which is based at the Beavan family farm, and offers courses in traditional country skills, animal husbandry and wildlife discovery.

Best known for BBC’s Lambing Live, Channel 4’s Crufts 2014 and Kate’s role as the BBC One Show’s resident farmer, Kate Beavan is widely experienced and qualified. Great Tre-Rhew Farm – location for the BBC’s first series of Lambing Live – is a 300 acre traditional mixed farm in the beautiful Monmouthshire countryside, dating back to the 13th century. A haven for wildlife as well as a fully working farm, Great Tre-Rhew is home to sheep, cattle, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese and arable enterprises; plus otters, herons, kingfishers, wildflower meadows and more; and supports three generations of the Beavan family, all living on the farm.

Abi Reader, NFU Cymru County Chairman for Glamorgan said, “We are very grateful to Kate for agreeing to come and speak at our conference and also to HSBC Bank for sponsoring the event. I hope we will get a good turnout of local NFU Cymru members. Please also encourage your friends and neighbours to come along.”
