Landini to expand tractor range with new six-cylinder Powermax

Two models from 141hp to 167hp plus power boost for pto/transport

32-speed transmission featuring eight-speed powershift

High capacity hydraulics, optional cab and axle suspension

Scottish farmers in the market for a high-specification tractor in the fast-growing 150hp to 200hp power bracket will have a new option after the Royal Highland Show (June 21-24, Ingliston near Edinburgh) where Landini plans to unveil its new Powermax model.

Two sizes will be available initially once production gets underway this autumn, complementing the current Landpower line-up with added performance from a more sophisticated engine and transmission and higher output hydraulics, while also giving the driver a spacious and comfortable place to work in a cab with optional suspension.

"The Powermax effectively takes Landini into a new market sector because we've had tractors in this power bracket before but not with the same level of features and sophistication," says Adrian Winnett, UK sales manager. "With operators working long hours, especially on arable farms, and looking for maximum productivity, I think we'll see a lot of interest in the newcomer at the Cereals Event."

Full specifications and retail prices will be released at the Royal Highland Show but the initial line-up will comprise two models, both with 6.7-litre Iveco six-cylinder engines. Power outputs for draft work are 141hp and 157hp. But when powering pto implements or pulling a trailer on the road, the engine automatically delivers up to 152hp and 167hp, respectively, thanks to an electronic fuel injection remapping system.

With eight powershift gears giving easy access to the best working speed for each job, 110-litre/min variable flow hydraulics and 8000kg implement lift, the Landini Powermax is well-equipped to handle a range of different field and haulage tasks.
