Lawyers reinforce commitment to the local farming community

Commercial, agricultural and private-client lawyers Crombie Wilkinson have been appointed as one of only two solicitors to provide legal advice and expertise to the National Farmers Union North East members.

Following the completion of a six month national review by the National Farmers Union, Crombie Wilkinson were chosen for their understanding and expert knowledge in agriculture as well as their range of specialist commercial and private-client legal services provided from their locally based offices – market towns of Selby and Malton and the city of York.

Head of the Agricultural Team and Malton office partner-in-charge Jenni Bartram, says "We are already well known in the region for our specialist services to the agricultural sector. This appointment clearly demonstrates our ability, commitment and firm belief in supporting British Farming. We are looking forward to a successful working partnership with the National Farmers Union and providing a high quality legal service for its members."

Involved in many diverse and topical matters in the local community, Crombie Wilkinson's varied legal dealings include buying and selling agricultural land, Agricultural Holdings Act Tenancies, farm business tenancies, sporting agreements, and planning and farm diversification issues as well as company, commercial and horticultural property law, commercial litigation, company and employment law, family and child law advice, mediation, residential property services, landlord and tenant matters and wills and trust planning.

The panel that awarded the appointment included NFU North East Regional Director Richard Ellison and Yorkshire farmer Fred Gooder, who is also chairman of the NFU's Legal Board.
